Crafting a Bold and Distinctive Brand for those that Break from the Herd

Wildhorse is a master-planned community just minutes from downtown Austin, yet far removed from the frantic pace of city life. It needed a brand that would speak to rebels and dreamers seeking a simpler, more independent way of life. I was brought in at the earliest stage of the project to help shape the launch—beginning with competitive research and brand strategy, then building the brand identity, creative direction, and launch system. Inspired by the legend of a lone wild mustang that roamed the region long after other herds had been rounded up, the brand was rooted in that same untamed spirit.

Challenge

As a brand-new real estate development, Wildhorse needed an identity that felt distinct, credible, and flexible enough to carry across every launch touchpoint.

Execution

I led an audit of the market and competitors, then created the core brand identity and visual system. From there, I helped extend the brand across website, marketing materials, outdoor advertising, and wayfinding signage.

Results

The result was a launch-ready brand built to support a community of real scale. Originally planned at nearly 1,500 acres with 1,800+ single-family homes and 1,260 multifamily units, Wildhorse continues to expand in active phases today.
